PMP exam - my study pattern

I started of with PMBok before my classes with PMI REP @ blr

Browsing through the PMBOK was definitely useful and helped me grasp the concepts faster in the class.

Although, I learnt that PMBOK has to be read more intensely and thoroughly during the classes.

Steps that I recommend

1. Read PM BOK atleast three times

2. PMBOK may be very dry to read , so you may use some standard prep book simulataneously

(like Rita's book or head first)

3. Take the practice tests in the book you choose that appear after each and every chapter.

4. You can refer to well compiled notes available in PMHUB.net

5. Particpate in discussion forums to clear your doubts on concepts ( See list of forums in previous post)

6. A group study would help prepare faster and better

7. Take free sample tests available at pmstudy.com / headfirstlabs.com and other sites listed in previous post to get used to different questions.

8. Face as many new questions as possible so that you wont have any surprises in the PMP exam.

9. Not all PMP Q&A available on web may be authentic. In case of any doubt , PMBOK should be taken as single source of truth.

10. 3 serious reading of PMBOK, 3 reading of Prep book you choose and 3 simulated exams can give you a lot of confidence to pass the PMP exam

thats what I have been doing, reading the PMBOK and the Crowe book and going through the practice exams. the problem I have with taking practice exams over and over again is that i started to know the question-answer pattern so after a while I am not sure if I am learing the material or just memorized the question patterns.
